I am getting ready to load 7.62x54.I have 150gr and 174gr hornady bullets. I plan on using the 150 gr. bullets for my 39M fin rifle and the 174 gr bullets in my 91/30 rifle. I don't like a lot of recoil but will tolerate when that is the accuracy load. I prefer light loads.
I have A2200 powder that I would use for the 39m Fin rifle. I have Varget , IMR 4895 and IMR 4831 if I can find some non-nuclear loads. I have IMR 4831 that I would like to use on the 91/30 rifle as it is a slower powder.
The majority of the cases I have (400 to 500) are new Norma. I have a variety of primers WLR, CCI LR, Federal Match Magnum Large pistol
I have H4350 powder as well.
I am saving my H1000 for my 338 Lapua Magnum. If that is the best powder I will use it on my Mosins
Any input of favorite loads would be greatly appreciated.

TIA Charly

For all my MN (I have 5 of them) I use IMR4064, except my M39. I use VV n-140 in that. For the 91/30 my best bullet is either the Horn 3130G from Grafs or the Horn RN 174gr . The 3130 is so accurate in my 91/30 I won't even say how accurate as BS meters would go off on this forum. My M39 does well with the Lapua 200gr D166 bullet---those bullets are very expensive though. The M39's recoil isn't too bad as it is a very heavy rifle. The one rifle I have that kicks like a mule is my Win Mod 70 Featherweight. The MN are heavy enough that they absorb recoil well. You could wear a recoil shield.

I would advise against using Fed Large Pistol primers though. Why would you use them?

Just thought I would mention I have about 200 S&B brass that was range pickup.
I have been a brass whore for about 25 years. That is what My best friend and I referred to.

I use both IMR-4064, 47.70 for and 2903 fps, 44.0gr for 2769 fps, and 19.0 for 1019fps. I also use IMR-4350 with 200gr bullets, 45.1gr 2144. I have also used some Trailboss, Had a blast with the can... 150gr with 13.0gr TB 1050fps. All are with Large Rifle Primers.

IMR-3031 is a super powder as well, it runs about 4-5% less than IMR-4064, for the same performance, and very stable.

Super Bullet to have some fun with.

Good Luck, And Remember, Start Low and work up slowly for your firearm.

The h4350 and the 174 are a perfect combination, 54gr 4350 is the charge that I shoot with the 174-175 and 52gr with the 190's

I use RL 15 with 180gn SP at 43gn gives around 2300fps nice accurate mild load.
I have also used RL15 with a 150gn SP at 46gn gives a nice accurate load at 2500fps.
