Yesturday while at a gun shop (located on Watt Ave in Sacramento County), I wanted to check out a few guns behind the wall. The man behind the counter does not bother to rack the slide. Points it at the ground and pulls the trigger.... Then hands me the pistol.

He later hands me a Sig Pro after he looks at it. Puts his hand over the muzzle and pulls the trigger. At this point I had no more interest in looking at any more guns.

***....this is the guy that does the safety test (oral) before I can buy a gun from him..........

My girlfriend said to me later....relax hun it would only have been his foot or hand he blew off. (she was joking)

I thought well if he decided to do that at least he did it in front of someone who could respond quickly medically........

A clerk at Sportmart did almost teh same thing a few years back when I was looking. He was ranting about that an 18 year old (another customer) was breaking the law by his father letting him shoot his pistol at the range (whiich is legal). The he started on that someone had cocked all the 1911's.
So he pulls teh trigger lock off and dry fires it at the floor with out checking anything. after the second pistol I asked him what he thought he was doing. He said it didn't matter, all the guns are unloaded. I asked him why, and he just said it didn't really matter, they are unloaded.
Last time I shopped there. :banghead:

First off someome tells I have to pass a test to buy, one of his weapons and this is not a state or fed law. I would tell him were he could stick it as I walked out the door. ALso if that the way he handles weapons well they have a award for that call ,Darwin. Find another shop.

So would the rest of us in California.... except for Nanny Gray Davis and his ilk put in place a law that says we have to pay to be learned-up in the ways of gun safety to get their little stupid card... and then each time we buy a gun we have to be told by the dealer all about the safety issues and mechanical workings of it.

It does not matter if we have bought 40 of the same model handgun in th lst year (oops wait we cant do that either.. one a month is what keeps californians safe ya know) but we have to go through this each time.

Did you point out the error of his ways to him and teach him proper safety techniques, or did you merely walk out in amazement.

Not meant as a flame but many times I think we all miss chances to help someone even when they seem to not want the help.

What could that possibly have accomplished?! (Besides a hole in his hand)
