A great Colt clone, really.

The greatest Colt clone ever! I must confess, I didn't think THAT much of USFA revolvers. I recently saw a revolver that I would have sworn was a 1st generation Colt SAA in mint condition. No. I have seen Doug Turnbull restorations and they are excellent. This revolver was the BEST of all possible worlds. A USFA/Turnbull Restorations new production revolver!! These are exactingly perfect clones of Victorian era Colt SAAs. Production is limited though. All three barrel lengths will be available. Serial numbers are custom factory assigned. Several grips are available. The beautiful Doug Turnbull CCH finish is applied to each revolver. The best part? Yup. USFA ships "Rodeos" "in the white" to Turnbull, who whips these up .

They are mechanically identical to a Rodeo and shoot exactly like one. This is a good thing. They're basically a set of massive cosmetics upgrades to the Rodeo and possibly the finest SAA-pattern guns EVER made (as they're stronger than an orginal, esp. a real Victorian era Colt).

I was checking out USFA's website, and they claim to make their six guns in the old Colt factory. A stock USFA revolvers is listed at just under a grand, and they do look authentic to the old Colts.
If I was heavy into CAS, I'd probably get one (or two), but as I'm just a casual shooter, and there's no SASS sanctioned events at my range, I'll be shopping for a Ruger Vaquero at half the cost.

Tony, the Rodeos are price-competitive with Vaqs. True, they ain't as strong and are five-up propositions but they're accurate and faster-handling (based on SAA-spec size, weight and heft) and are probably the best CAS/SASS competition revolvers available at the price.

Doug Turnbull or any number of others could probably refinish a Rodeo sometime down the road in "full tilt" case colors/high-gloss blue for about $600 - $700, so your total out the door in "two stages" wouldn't be much more than your up-front cost to go whole hog right off the bat.

I recently bought a new Rodeo for $418 & ship so they can be found at Ruger prices but it had to be returned to have the barrel turned which added another $37 in shipping to the cost.
