I'm a revolver guy but there are a few semi-auto's that catch my eye. Smith & Wesson's Model 39, Rugers Standard 22, Colt's 1911.

And John Brownings, classic P-35, 9mm.

I've long wanted one, but never had the hankering meet up with the funds, when something else didn't distract me more. Last week it did.

It's not a Browning, but a FEG Model PJK-9HP. A Hungarian High Power. I haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet, but did fire a magazine of mixed FMJ and HP ammo out back of the goat and hog pens. It worked flawlessly of course, and was dead on at ten yards as long as I did my part.

These are great $375+/-25 guns. For some reason central Va is awash with them at this time. I have even seen .45ACP though it was more like S&W then BHP.

Congratulations, nice pistol! I'm also a revolver guy but at this moment I'm in a semiauto trip. But how a guy at the range told me: "Revolver guy once, revolver guy forever".

Psh. Buy a semi and you get one chamber. Buy a revolver and you get anywhere from 5 to 10!
More chambers = more awesomer!!! We all know that!

Seriously though, as a revolver guy myself, nice buy. It still fits the whole traditional firearm "thing" that revolver guys tend to have. Before our stupid 10 round limit went into effect here in CT I had a hankering for a hi-power. It's just tough to justify a 10+ capacity firearm now that I would have to keep neutered in my state. So thanks for buying that one! I'm happy that other people get to have them!

19-3Ben,

Did you ever consider getting one in 40 S&W? The standard magazine for those are 10 rds.

I, too, am a revolver guy ... who also fell off the proverbial wagon a couple years ago and finally bought a 1911 (RIA 1911 Tactical .45) from a coworker. It's not so bad, is it?

Still a revolver guy at heart, but the autos are fun, too.

As my handle suggests, I'm a revolver guy as well. I've had a few auto's over the years, including a HP (the only one I've kept), but I always seem to fall back on my 686. The Hi-Power is an awesome auto, and a joy to shoot. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I recently broke down and moved further down the path of the dark side by picking up my first Colt 1911. We'll see if it stays or goes the way of the other auto's.

Nice "Hi Power"! I did it the other way, my first three handguns (back in the 1970s) were semiautos: Ruger Mark I .22lr, Colt Government Model 45ACP and Luger 9mm. Then I got a S&W Model 19! All excellent choices if I do say so myself.

I'm not a "revolver guy", I just appreciate all fine firearms. And yes, I did finally get a Hi Power too.

Besides being a revolver guy, I'm a reloader as well. Nothing aggravates me more than hunting for the brass after emptying a magazine. At times, it gets so bad that I go looking for the case after every shot.
Perhaps I need therapy...

I'm jealous, I've been keeping my eye out for a reasonably priced Browning High Power or a High Power clone but I always seem to be a day late or a dollar short lately. You mentioned the other handgun that's on my bucket list, the S&W Model 39. The ones that I've occasionally run across are beat up and over priced but I know I'll find a decent bargain sooner or later.

I find that the fun in collecting is the search, once I've found and obtained my current interest I find it to be a bit of a let down. I guess I'll always be looking for the next interesting item or deal to be had.

That is exactly the same position I find myself in these days. It's not the gun, it's the hunt for the gun that appeals to me. Once I've got it, there is a let down so to speak. "Been there, done that." What's next?

I've owned several Model 39's over the years, including one in NIB (with papers) condition. I kick myself from time to time for selling them.

I may have to look for another one. :D

Nice find. Hope you enjoy shooting yours as much as I do. I have a PJK-9HP and its my most accurate handgun. I would gladly buy another. You will probably want to remove the mag disconnect though. It will do wonders for your trigger. I woods-carry mine in a cheap M7 tanker holster.
