I've got a 686 and 340pd .357 revolvers that I use A-zoom .357 snap caps in. I also have a 642 .38 revolver. Can I use the .357 snap caps in the .38 revolver????
I have some AZoom .44 Special and .44 Magnum versions. The .44 Mags will not chamber in a .44 Special chamber -- they're correct length for the cartridges they're marked for. I don't know whether the same is true for the .357 caps. Give it a try -- it they chamber fully, you should be fine.
(Note- My snapcaps aren't A-Zoom, so I don't quite know what I'm talking about)
I bought a few .38 snapcaps for my M10 and noticed that they were (quite) a bit shorter than a live .38 round, so my hunch is that the .357s would be short enough to fit as well. Couldn't hurt to try, anyway.
