Ok Folks,

I know there are a lot of opinions floating around about Hi Points, but when it comes to accuracy which shoots the smaller group, Hi Point C9 or Ruger P95?

Anyone with experience shooting both?

I own and shoot a Hi Point C9. Have had it for a while. it is accurate at 25 yards. I use it for home defense. I don't need it to be accurate more than 25 ft, at most.. I have had NO PROBLEMS with it... I am now looking at the other calibers they make..

I owned a Hipoint and I OWN a Ruger P95.

I wouldn't use the Hipoint for ANYTHING other than a trip to the range to introduce a new shooter MAYBE...

Mine Jammed A LOT with every brand of ammo i could come across... JPH's and Ball.

No Effin' way in hell would i trust my life to a Hipoint. Their "OK" guns at best... sorry, thats my opinion and i know... but the Ruger P95 is a FINE gun... Mine is more reliable than my m&p, Xd, Glock, CZ.... No joke... that p95 is an amazing firearm. Now if it was a tad bit thinner i would use it for a carry gun...

If your looking at both, and can afford the p95, do yourself a favor and just get the Ruger. Its got a fantastic following and rightfully so.

I hope this isn't coming off as gun snobbery but the HiPoint is a "cheap" gun, the Ruger P95 is an "Inexpensive" gun.

I'll give the hipoint credit where credit is due... it was cheap and when it wasn't jamming, it was a fairly accurate firearm at the range (12yard range)

You need to understand that you're talking about two guns that are fairly far apart on the quality spectrum. Let's say we arbitrarily make a spectrum of 0-20, with 0 being Raven, Cobra, Lorcin, and the like, and 20 being Ed Brown, STI, and US Fire Arms.

On this scale, Hi Point is about a 1.2, and the Ruger is about a 10. It's similar to comparing a Yugo and a new Chevy Malibu. No freaking comparison.

A friend of mine had the C9 and sold it. It took him a few hundred rounds, 30% (or more) of those didn't fire, and he actually took it out once and didn't have any jams (right before he traded it for $300 worth of stuff). Mostly I think it was just trying every kind of ammo, I wanna say Remington UMC worked.

No experience with the P95, but I know Ruger is a great company and they stand behind their products.

Apray, do you own both or are you contemplating buying one vs the other? If you are in the market for an inexpensive autoloader you might want to expand your choices, perhaps a used Glock, SIG or Beretta or perhaps a S&W 59 series pistol. All have a very large amount of mags and spare parts available everywhere.
Of the 2 choices listed I would rather have the Ruger (I would rather have a Ruger revolver) than any current Highpoint. Maybe if Highpoint was to make a model 1911?

+ P95

I own three Ruger P series pistols, two P95DC's and a P97DC. I find all three to be just as accurate as my Colt 1911, Walther PPS 9mm and Ruger SR9.

The P95 is a great pistol!
