Advise on transition to conceal carry

Here's my safety list. (It's MY list...and I'm sure not everyone will agree. And it's to keep guns safe from the little ones...)

1. During "awake" hours...all guns in the safe... except my carry gun.
2. Personal carry gun in its holster and on my hip at 99% of the time.
3. During sleep hours...the "night stand" gun comes out of safe and joins my carry gun and both will serve as "night stand" guns......(as secondary back-up)
4. Guns properly holstered at all times.
5. I avoid cleaning guns and dry firing guns when others are home. I usually wait until I am alone in the house.
6. Other than in a self-defense situation, I do not remove my gun from its holster when others are home. (No fondling...or ogling ...or admiring unholstered guns when others are home.)
7. I make it a habit to never set down my carry gun "even just for a moment" in a place that the little one can reach it. I even carry this practice this when no one is at home. (Of course, there are exceptions...such as when I am cleaning my guns.)

Shadow 7D,

Your advise is the most convincing, I've heard. Fear is an excellent motivator to do the right things. I agree with you 100% that wearing a replica gun will probably result in sloppy, lenient safety practices.

Thanks.
