Hello everyone. A few weeks ago I purchased a brand new Smith and Wesson 460xvr. When I took it to the range, problems occured immediately. The gun was light striking horribly. I had a friend who's had to fix a gun or two in his time take a look at it. The mainspring wasn't the problem, so we knew it wasn't gonna be an easy fix. He also discovered that the gun had terrible endshake. I've sent the gun to S&W with the hope that everything will be fixed and I'm pretty confidant the light striking problem will be. I'm not so confidant the endshake will be. Has anyone here ever fixed an X-frame with endshake problems. I know that a washer is the usual solution on smaller frame guns, but if I have to fix this one myself, I don't know what size washer to use or where to get it.

If S&W doesn't fix it the first time, make them do so the second time, or the third, or how ever many attemps it takes.
That is unexceptable on a brand new S&W .460 Magnum, period.

You should not have to repair a brand new S&W X-Frame with steel shim washers!!!

I'm hoping I won't have to, RC. I just don't want to spend the next 6 months sending a gun back and forth.
