Anyone Here Own/Shot/Handled A Mitchell's Mausers "Black Lightning" Rifle?

That's an awfully expensive .22 and it still would be even if Mitchell's had attached a story to the rifle about how it was used by elite SS short range sniper troops

nero. . .

Set the magazine down and back away from it very slowly. After three steps, turn around and run as fast as you can.

I would be leary of anything from that vendor. (Personal opinion.):cuss:

I wonder if there are going to be 'death head' markings on the underside of the stock?

Do yourself a favor and get a 10/22 and dress it up. At least you will KNOW what you have when you start and finish.

Just my 2-1/2¢ worth.

"exceptional accuracy" means exactly what?

"M-16 legacy " sorry, but I don't see it.

"lifetime durability" means exactly what?

"A detachable 9-round magazine is standard equipment" totally awesome!

"heavy fluted 18” barrel" and "heavy duty, solid poly frame" seems to conflict with "easy-pointing and fast handling".

Seems like an awful lot of hype with very little substance.

Thanks all for the replies. I think I'm going to take your advise and just get a 10/22, and install a Williams peep sight on it. Again, thanks.

Jam trouble

I've fired this weapon eight times now and it continues to jam. The clips are cheap plastic even though Mitchells charges $30 buck apiece. I tried 5 (FIVE) rounds instead of NINE and it still jammed.......less often, but too often. I went to Black Hawk training center and had a specialist come out on the range with me. He witnessed the continuous jamming. I'm sorry I bought this "Overpriced" weapon. It's my last purchase from Mitchell's Mausers. Some manufacturer needs to make a clip for this weapon that works!

As a general principle, expect anything from Mitchell's Mausers to be overpriced for what it is - by a significant amount . . . :fire:
I have their 8mm mauser tanker which is new and it is the best finished mauser I ever saw. They have them in 30-06 and .243. for $545. I think that is a great price for a real nice solid gun that will last generations

While I know nothing about that particular gun, I DO know enough to be suspect of anything that has anything to do with Mitchell's Mausers.

Yes dave you are right about them selling older mausers that are higher in price then others. If you saw a tanker like I have it is beautiful. Has bluing that looks like the bluing done in the 60's. All wood and steel made by the same people that make the interarms mauser. It feels like carrying a BB gun. It is the smallest most powerful gun I have or could want
