I bought a bunch of used reloading equipment. In the lot are RCBS and Lee dies. However, there is no paperwork to indicate whether they are steel or carbide. Is there any number or mark on the dies to tell me what I have. The ones I am most interested in are RCBS 3 die set for 45 ACP and Lee 3 die set for 38/357mag.
Are my dies Carbide?

Carbide sizer dies will have an insert installed at the base of the dies. Steel dies will not. Just look at the base of the die and should be able to tell.
The other dies, expander and seater, will be all steel. You can compare the sizer dies to the others and you should be able to see the carbide ring insert if it is there.
