I'm cleaning out some of my safe queens and came across a oddity. I'm wondering if I'd get the best coverage on armslist or maybe another gun website.
any suggestions?

btw ,the gun is a Interdynamics KG-9 open bolt 9mm still in the box. Only a few escaped legally before the BATF declared them fullauto pistols. I bought it new in the 80's.

I've had some good luck with Armslist. I've not ever bought anything from there, but I've sold a few guns and some accessories on Armslist.

I've sold a few guns through Armslist. Cross listed everything on texas gun trader as well as THR for sale forums. However, all my listings are for common guns... Not sure how you will do with selling an oddity. Do you have an idea of how much it is worth? Can't hurt to use Armslist... It is free.

I sold two rifles (the only guns I've ever sold) in FTF deals after posting them in ads on armslist. I think bought a Winchester 1897 from another C&R holder from an armslist ad. I had the rifles listed on the VA gun trader and Gunsamerica but got WAY more interest from armslist.

Just be sure if you do a FTF that you look at their drivers license and make sure they are from your state. And write a reciept with your/their name AND signatures. You will get a lot of people viewing your post for sure.

If it's rare or an oddity, I'd list it on Gunbroker and let the market determine the price. You can have a minimum opening bid or an unknown reserve price. On Armslist and other forum classifieds, you set the price. You may be leaving money on the table. Right now people are paying ridiculous prices for a lot of gun related stuff.

I'd be a bit cautious with that particular piece since it had a very bad reputation among law enforcement types when I worked the street (1973 to 1995...).... I'd want to be very certain that ATF didn't figure out a way to close any loophole that existed when you bought it. Down here in south Florida that open bolt model was one of the featured weapons in those wild times of the eighties....

If I remember correctly it could be made to fire full auto with just a pencil eraser between trigger and frame... hence the ban.

I used Armslist for the first time last week and sold my G17 Gen 2 on Saturday. It was a face to face sale. I would suggest doing the same. Otherwise consign it at a reputable shop.

I've used armslist many times. I think it's great. Sold and bought a couple FTF and even shipped one which obviously has to be shipped to their FFL. I always do a simple "Bill of Sale" with signatures and drivers licence number just to make sure they are legal state residents when I meet FTF.

Several FTF purchases here in NH.No problem with Armslist... I do get tired of the " FS or FT- make me an offer/ what do you have?"type of posters.
Or the ones that insist that FTF with an LTC is illegal in NH and will only go through an FFL.

Definitely well worth doing. You can find some pretty good templates online. I went a little overboard and did the transfers through an FFL as well. It was probably not necessary but they were my first (and hopefully last...I like what I have now) gun sales, so I wanted to be sure to have everything done right. The Bills of Sale should really go a long way to legally protecting yourself.

All is well as long as buyer and seller communicate, communicate, communicate !

Be up front as a seller no surprises for the buyer, and vice versa.

There are some yahoo's but you can usually weed them out with the first phone conversation.

I've sold two FTF and traded one, can say nothing bad about armslist

Want to hear something crazy!??!

I put an ad on A/L to trade 20rd Pmags for 30rd Pmags. I only traded with two guys and both were way out of my area. I didn't want to just ship my mags off to an address in another state just to get the shaft in return, but both other parties were more than willing to do so. They both shipped me their brand new 30rd Pmags first! Of course I kept my word and shipped them mine, but good grief, I thought they were crazy for doing that. There was no way for them to know if I was going to follow through or not and no way for them to seek restitution had I given them false info and stole their mags.
