Get a prescription for lidocaine patches. My insuransce pays for them, it's just lidocane. You can cut the patches to conform to any area, and it numbs the pain. It's external so there is no narcotic effect, same stuff they use when you get a local. They are great for sleep.

A couple years ago my girlfriend cut up about ten gallons of various hot peppers from the garden without wearing gloves. The pain kinda crept up on her and no amount of washing or soaking in milk etc helped.. she was in tears.
Then I remembered the Lidocaine patches in the closet.. they worked great, thankfully.

I am not a granola; far from it. BUT I have to say that I know several people, including myself, who benefited greatly from a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement. You can buy it at Walmart. Follow the directions and go through one bottle. Let yourself run out and then decide if it works for you.

I've been using glucosamine/chondroitin for 3 months without any noticable improvement But everybody reacts to anything differently so if it work's for you go for it.I'm willing to try about anything non-narcotic"I've been down that road".Your tolerence builds up and keep needing more and more.

The glucosamine is a good choice. It doesn't help everybody because every case is a little different, but what it does is basically act like a lubricant for the joints. More cushion means less pain.

Also, the lidocain patches are an idea, but there is also Flector patches or Voltaren gel which is the anti-inflammatory drug diclofenac in a localized application. It's also a possibility.

I'm not recommending anything, check with your doctor first, but glucosamine condroitin has DEFINITELY helped me. Several years ago I injured my right shoulder, which had previously been afflicted with arthritis. I did nothing for the better part of a year, hoping the problem would go away. It didn't. Glucosamine C absolutely helped, actually cured it, but it took many months.

When I injured my left shoulder recently (before Christmas...darned ice) I immediately started the GC rather than waiting 8 months like I did with my other shoulder. Much faster recovery. I'm at about 90% right now.

Beak 50. My Doc told me that some brands don't work for some people while others do. Also, it's my understanding that there are two basic different types of arthritis, and GC doesn't help so much with one of the types, can't remember which.

It's called RA, and is not fun...yes, I have it. I have more than one finger that points "off". I tend to shoot a lot of 22 now, and save the 7.62X25mm, .38, 9mm, 9X18mm for SD carry only.

The joint supplements help with osteoarthritis and other joint and tendon ailments. You're thinking of rheumatoid arthritis, which is a chronic inflammatory disorder.
