As many of you know, I teach disabled and handicapped shooters to use handguns for defensive purposes. Many of them are in wheelchairs or require support while walking, and many of them have hand and/or arm strength and/or mobility issues (which make "limp-wristing" a fact of life for them), so most of them are limited to revolvers for carry purposes.

I have two shooters who have learned the basics, and need to get their hands on revolvers - but they have no funds available. Both are on disability grants of less than $500 per month, which has to pay for all their living expenses. Needless to say, this isn't enough, and they rely on their families to make up the difference. They don't have anything available for firearms.

I'm looking for some kind and generous members who are willing to donate a .38 Special snubnose revolver to the cause. This would ideally be with a concealed hammer, as in the Centennial or Bodyguard J-frames, but beggars can't be choosers, so anything would do. They need to be in good mechanical order, although finish wear is acceptable. Ability to handle +P loads would be a plus factor.

Is there anyone out there who can help? If so, please PM me, or respond in this thread and I'll contact you.

Many thanks in advance!

You might be better off asking for folks to drop a couple bucks in a envelope and send it to you. I've been forced to sell a lot of stuff to try to pay off my truck as I feel unemployment looming (again) I'm sure there's alot of people like me on this forum, that could send a dollar or two.

Popeye, thanks for the suggestion, but I decided long ago that I was not going to ask for, or accept, cash. There are too many folks who would question whether I was misusing it, or wanting a full accounting of how it was spent - and they would be quite entitled to know! This sort of admin is just too much for me to cope with. I'd rather ask for assistance in kind, rather than in cash, and avoid the hassle.

I bet a yard sale or two with donated goods might get them in to a rossi or something. Just my $.02
