I bought an Astra NC-6 .38 from CAI last year for $159 and just finished upgrading it to a $169 revolver. I bought a set of used Pachmayr K-frame Presentation grips from Speedo66 right here at THR thinking I'd used them on my S&W Model 10 or Model 65. But I'd already bought grips for them and didn't remember. To get these newly acquired K-frame grips to work on the Astra was simple. All it took was heating up an icepick on the stove and burning out small holes on the inside of the grips to accommodate the alignment pins in the revolver handle.

I ended up with an all-black revolver, which makes it an EBR of sorts and it is a lot more comfortable to hold. The Pachmayr's are a good fit for this revolver.

MikeWSC. It shoots well enough for my 20/400 eyes. The only ammo I have put through it are several dozen loose 158gr LRN's of various manufacturers I had in a freezer bag. It was comfortable to shoot with the old grips but I think these are going to make it better. I wish I had the eyes and skills of a younger man but I am satisfied at hitting a paper plate at 10 yards. I recently bought two Rockchucker presses to get back into reloading after a 25 year hiatus. I was always partial to full wad-cutters and a bulk powder like 2400 (as opposed to Unique or Bullseye) when I used to shoot paper. I want to try some Pyrodex and heavy LRN's this time around for fun.

These Astra's are nice revolvers. For $159 each it feels like I stole the NC-6, Model 960 and Cadix.
