Attaching a sling to Sig 556

I have a Sig 556. I am having a peculiar issue trying to figure out how to put a sling on it. the only rear sling attachment is on the butt of the stock, and when it is folded, the sling just doesn't work.

Some Sig 556's have a ring on the rear of the receiver that would allow a sling attachment point. My Sig does not have this. Is there a way to add that to my Sig? Here is a photo of what I am talking about:

Try this. Or try the various Sig forums. Looks like factory originals pop up on occasion in the classifieds.

Does the rifle have to be modified to install?

Another option would be to install one of the many rail mounted sling points.

I believe Sig Sauer will add the sling attachment to the rear of the receiver if you send them the rifle. It will cost $$ but I don't know how much, but I can't imagine it's amazingly expensive.
I have a 556 Patrol and a 556R. The 556R has the attachment ring while the earlier Patrol doesn't.
