While I do not own a Ruger Mini 14. I do read the threads from time to time and the one major gripe that I always hear is that there are no factory high capacity mags available. In looking for some straight body 20rd Ar mags I stumbled on some 20rd factory mags marked LEO for the Mini 14. I thought I would give THR Mini 14 owners a heads up on these incase anyone is intrested. $31.99 doesn't seem a bad price for hard to find mags.

If you REALLY want hi-cap the Beta-C dual-drum 100 rounders are now available for the Ruger Mini-14. I'm afraid that will set you back at least $250 for black or other solid colors, and $270-280 for the one with a clear plastic cover. Besides the high capacity, you're supposed to be able to leave ammo in the mag for long periods (sometimes ammo deforms very slightly when loaded in regular double-column mags, increasing the chance of a failure to feed or even a double-feed).

Redloki,

It isn't that there aren't high-cap magazines available that ticks many of us.

It's the fact that Ruger doesn't want those magazines being sold to us lowly civilians, and only sells those to companies for sale to law enforcement personel.

well i looked and they dont have any for the mini 30, any ideas on where to get one.

Like I said, I do not own a mini 14. Nothing wrong with them, just don't own one and was trying to give you guys a heads up. As far as the Mini 30. Man, google is your friend. I don't know where to find factory hicaps for the 30 but try here for aftermarket. If that is not what you are looking for try google.

Edited for early morning stupidity and lack of typing skills

Considering how HOT my Mini-14 gets if I fire 30 rounds out of it in the course of a minute, I wonder how many rounds to cook-off if someone tries emptying a full Beta-C as fast as they can pull the trigger . . .

Just went to the new Cabella;s in Milwaukee, and picked up two steel 30 rounders for $17.99 each.
