I've started looking at the MR Baby Eagle thanks to this forum. Now, I already have a Tanfoglio Witness Elite Match. If I got the Baby Eagle, would it be too sinilar to the Witness to be worth having. I don't really need two of the same thing. Are they very much alike? I'm looking at the 3.9 in barrel and steel frame version of the BE. Thanks for any input.

Someone more knowledgeable than I am will be along shortly, but I believe both guns are based on the same platform which would make them at least closely similar if not identical.

Tanfoglio provides the parts for IWI to make the Jericho/Baby Eagle.
The Baby Eagle generally will have a slide-mounted safety and the frames/slides will be different from the Witness. The trigger will be different because the Match has a single-action trigger.
Indeed, in the CZ-based world, the Jericho/Baby Eagle in normal configuration and the Elite Match would be almost completely different beasts.

No, as an owner of both, there similarities end at being a cz75 variant, I personally LOOOOOOVE my baby eagle and Jericho full size, the witness just kinda falls into the norm

Now, take a frame-mounted safety Jericho and, say, a Mossad Tanfoglio, both in 9mm. Those are almost the same pistol. The trigger pull will be the same, the safety the same, even the sights will be the same. The grip will be different, but not a whole lot different. I have a Jericho with the frame-mounted safety and can attest to this.
Move the safety and things change. Go to a single action trigger and things change. Already the sights are different, and the weight difference on the forward frame and the differences begin to outweigh the similarities (which at this point will be the way the slide rides, which is impossible to tell when firing, and the location of the mag release button, which is ubiquitous).
Which is to say, in complete unanimous voices, that these two pistols will feel and operate completely different in all likelihood.

What's wrong with owning similar pistols? If every gun I owned was perfectly dissimilar from every other, I'd own one semi auto pistol, one revolver, one lever gun, one bolt gun, one shotgun and etc.
If it's something you like and want ... get it and enjoy it. Additionally, having similar guns may reduce your ammunition costs or in my case reduce the cost of loading components since so many share many of those components.

Some may have forgot'n that theres also old BE and new BE. Different pistols but still a tanfoglio product. Eve old and new witness's are very different .

They did have a name change. Israeli Military Industries (IMI) spun off and privatized its small arms division, Israel Weapon Industries (IWI). IMI once made the Jericho from Tanfoglio parts. Earliest Jericho pistols had more CZ-type features, such as a magazine brake. While Magnum Research was importing them as Baby Eagle, IMI became IWI (with a simpler monogram on the grips). KBI took over importation for a while (as the Jericho). Now, Magnum Research imports them again, as the Baby Eagle II (The new Baby Eagle is a poly striker-fired gun) from IWI.
Current Baby Eagles have the accessory rails. Older ones did not. There are other cosmetic changes, but otherwise, even old Jericho pistols with the slide safety are basically the same as current Baby Eagle pistols with a slide safety.
