I bought some Barnes 180 gr copper hollow points for my .41 Mag for hunting deer, but can't find any loading data for a 180 gr bullet. Anyone have any suggestions? I hate to have to buy a Barnes manual just for this one bullet.
Thanks,
Ron

Do you have a manual that lists the speer 170 JHC? I would take the data for that slug, back it down about 5% and start from there.

Data for the 170 grain stuff should be just fine, as long as you don't go right to the top of the charts.

You do have a chrono, right?
What gun are you using? Smith 57, 58, ruger, dan wesson, rifle?

No, I don't have a chrono but will soon. I'm shooting an old 57 with an 8 3/8" bbl. It is a really nice shooter. I have a red dot scope on it. It is a fun gun to hunt with up in the mountains here in N GA. Too steep to carry a long gun easily.
I've got Speer, Sierra and Hogden manuals and will work up a load as you suggested. Thanks for the input.
Recently got a .223 wssm. Any idea where I can find fairly comprehensive loading data for it in one place?

Subgauge: Ben has given you some good advice on loading those 180 gr Barnes bullets. I would also like to suggest that you call Barnes after the holdays to get their recommenations. Great people to deal with...800-574-9200. Merry Christmas!
