bbl inserts

has anyone had any experience shooting a thompson encore with a bbl insert? I have an encore in 308 and was considering getting a bbl insert to shoot 7.62x39 in it.Would appreciate any info about my doing this brfore I order the insert.One thing thr encore has a 308 bore and the 7.62x39 ammo is 310.

I am curious how well the 7.62x39 does in the .308?

I have an MC Ace adapter for .32 ACP in a .308 and it leaves a lot to be desired. Mostly due to accuracy.

The largest downside to using a chamber adapter is depending on what you are adapting the accuracy can really suffer. The adapters can add quite a bit of bullet jump or leade which in many cases is rough on accuracy.

As to 7.62 x 39 ammunition being .310 or .311 bullet diameter? That isn't always true. I have some Remington brass cased boxer primed reloadable 7.62 x 39 which uses .308 bullets. I believe the US manufactured Winchester was the same but yes, the military surplus and imported stuff is generally .310 or .311 but will run through a .308 bore.

So while I haven't tried your exact combination my exposure to chamber adapters has been less than favorable. On the bright side they aren't very expensive at less than $30 so you may want to give one a try. May work well for you, who knows.
