I can't see anything wrong with the 8mm... Works perfectly with light or heavy loads... Most can be used with common .323" bullets, and there's plenty of those around.

Although not favored like the 8x57JRS or 9,3x74R there is nothing wrong with 8x57JR or 9,3x72R. I do not pay attention to the 9,3x74R because the drilling with rifle barrel in that caliber would probably weigh more then Winchester 21, or heavy-framed Parker Bros gun. There is no point going in that direction. What I meant is guns made for Barons, Junkers,..... in obsolete "custom calibers" which makers in old days rolled or had rolled for their customers. Unlike most customers of the "Drilling Shop" I don't mind paying $5 or $6 per round if ammo is available.

In the good old days when new Krieghoff .500 cost about $6000 the owner of that New York shop told me they all want calibers I can't get or the ones where ammo is $5 per round with few takers. Sadly too many want to play but do not want to pay.
