I would usually blame the 22 lr ammo. But I noticed that the misfired ammo had almost no mark from the firing pin. Maybe, my firing pin is damaged?

I used federal 22 lr ammo, btw.

For 50 rounds, I had one misfire and one failure to feed because the ammo missed the hole. The top of the bullet went too high.

Either pull the FP, or test on some more ammo, or at least test on spent casings.

This isn't one that can be diagnosed without experimintation.

The problem is not the design of the pistol. It is the unreliable nature of rimfire ignition in the 22LR.

Then why was it always the 2nd to last round... No matter what brand of ammo or mag I used?

(Not only that one... some were ammo related. Others not)

Don't know what the issue was with your Beretta. I was referring to 22 pocket pistols in general. Most of them tend to be very finicky about ammo and need to be cleaned fairly frequently to run well.

If I was going to carry a mini-Beretta, I would prefer the greater reliabilty of one chambered in .25 ACP, even though it lacks an extractor.

My old Beretta Bobcat only works well with solid nose CCI Mini-Mags. The most I can get it to fire consecutively is about 50 rounds starting from a clean gun. Once dirty and the round count goes above 50, it's all luck if it still shoots.

I did have to replace the firing pin once, too. Be sure to get a new firing pin spring and a new retainer roll pin while you are at it. BTW, you might as well get the safety plunger ball and spring too, just in case they go flying away if you pull the safety off.

If that's all you've experienced with the 21-A, you got yourself a "pistol". For the rest of us that have had multiple FTF's, glad you found a decent one...This idea of experimenting with various ammo really got old. Real tired of it and expressed that thought to Beretta in MD.

I'm with Mad Magyar
1 mis & 1 ftfeed in 50 rds is very good for a Bobcat.

Mine does very well on Fiocchi 40 gr high velocity.
One local source has it for $2.69/50 rd box.

Mini-mags, stingers & velocitors work too, but dang - their expensive!

I don't remeber which site that said that the bobcat was built around heavy 22lr ammo. I shot 4gr federalwith good results.
