For a while now I had my eye on a true mousegun/pocket pistol. The smallest thing I had was the Glock 27 and at times depending on your physical build and dress that may even be too big for comfortable/concealed carry.
The other day I stopped up to my local gun shop fully intending to pick up a S&W Model 19 snub nose in nickle finish that I had my eye on also. After thoroughly checking out the snub I was concerned about the excessive play with the cylinder, especially front to back movement. As I was standing there I spotted in his cabinet a Beretta Bobcat model 21a in 22lr format.

The one in the display case was the Stainless Inox version and listed for $239 new. It has a 7 round magazine and a tip open barrel for ease of loading and unloading.

The workmanship on this tiny pistol is quite exquisite. No machining marks or blemishes.

I had the opportunity to take it out yesterday and run it through the paces. I fired 50 rounds of CCI Stinger ammunition through her with not one problem. After the 50 rounds of Stinger I fired through 50 rounds of CCI Mini-Mags again with no problems. I was firing at a distance of 7 yards and the accuracy on this little pistol surprised me. More than enough accuracy for it's intended use if ever needed. Utilizing this type of pistol in a defensive situation you would want to go for head and neck area shots so I used a B27 target for my testing.

After I had put the first 100 rounds through the tiny pistol I decided to clean it up. A lot of people report jamming with these guns when they get dirty and I could see how. To say that the tiny gun was dirty would be an understatement. After the cleaning I fired another 50 rounds of the Federal 550 bulk packs. The pistol handled these rounds with ease also and I had no problems.

So far I am actually quite impressed with this little gun. It is working fine for me and is excellent for summer carry or those times when I won't be able to carry something bigger like my 1911 or my duty issue Beretta. It fits snug into my hand and the workmanship on this model is very nice. CCI Stingers will be my round of choice for carry in this gun.

A stainless Bobcat now? Wow. I carried a blue one (I think it preferred Minimags) for a couple years. Like yourself, I tested it with various brands of ammo to find out what worked best and most accurate and then went from there. I don't recall any jamming with this gun and it boiled down to the most accurate ammo for that one particular gun. BTW, nice pics.

I had a nickel oe many years ago. I sold it because it wasn't reliable. Glad to see you found one that works properly ;) Congrats

Nice gun! I just picked one up with a matte blue/black finish. I like mine so far and the reason i got it was because a friend of mine has one that is accurate and reliable.

I would have prefered the INOX version but it was almost twice the price of the used blue version that I got.

2010

I just picked up a very lightly used 21A INOX this morning for $275. I was doing a google search and found this thread.

Really amazing to see what time does to the price.

You're kidding, right??? Come on, tell the truth....:D My 21-A was the tiniest POS I ever owned...Back to the factory twice, same results...FTF's!!!!!

Interesting follow-up, but as always with thread necromancy, we have responses wanting to debate statements made by members SEVEN YEARS AGO.

Sic terminus.
