I handled a Bersa thunder 9mm the other day and I was pretty impressed. Fit my hand great, I liked the position of the safety and the sites pointed dead on for me. They only wanted 330, and it came with 2 17 round mags as well. Very attractive gun IMO with the nickle finish. Though...I have no idea how to care for nickle!

Anyone own this gun or have any opinions? I already lurked about bersatalk forums and found some info there. Opinions are generally pretty positive.

I welcome firsthand accounts and even crazy interweb rumors ;)

There is really nothing to it. I assume it is electroplated? Then you will want to limit your use of copper solvents (e.g., Hoppes #9) to cleaning the bore only. Since the barrel will be out anyway, there is no chance of getting it on the frame or slide.

Bersa is a great gun and that sounds like an even better deal. I would grab it quick. I have several Bersas and I love them. The two that are nickel are my favorites.

To my understanding, Bersa is discontinuing the all nickle line (though that might only pertain to the Ultra Compact line, not 100% sure).

Either way, GREAT price for that gun. I'd pick it up if I were you. If I was in the market for the full size and not the compact, I'd fight you for it.

I was going to buy the duo-tone model for my birthday a couple weeks ago. Same features stood out for me too. Fits the hand well, controls are well located, points well, and above all the price was great!

The going rate was a little more around here at $369 with a sale that covers the tax. Could get it cheaper online, I know, but I'd rather support the little guy than save $20 after transfer and shipping.

The only reason I didn't buy it is because I came across a slightly used Beretta 92fs for $20 more and jumped on that. I've wanted a 92 for quite a while now. The 9000s just isn't the same (although MUCH better than that Nike spaceboot they call the PX4).

Also, magazines were a little scarce and around $40 a piece, give or take. I didn't see much in the way of direct fit holster options either, but I imagine there's plenty to be found with a little research and experimentation.
