Best holographic/reflex sight

What is the best sight in this catagory for an ak-47 with rails on the front handguard? I would like to keep it under $300; but also tell me the best according to every price range (like $0-$200, $200-$300, ect.)
 
You may be able to find a used Eotech for around $300. I purchased a Bushnell Holo Sight at the Bushnell outlet for $200. Its made by Eotech. Great sight. Even on the brightest day its bright. It has around 20 brightness settings.
 
I don't want it to weigh down the front either, not that an eotech does I just thought I'd add that.
 
I second the Bushell Holosight for the price. I like the clear and precise reticule on it too (same as the Eotech). The Holosight would be slightly lighter than an Eotech as it doesn't have the steel "rollbar". Mine don't feel heavy at all though.

The Aimpoints have a great battery life advantage. Holosights and Eotechs tend to drain the batteries even when off. Some Aimpoints have like a 50,000 hour battery life when left on.
 
Are you talking batteries or no batteries? Or both / either-or?

Because *most* people view the definition of "reflex" sight, IINM, as necessarily implying a fiber optic or tritium reticle (no batteries).
 
Don't discount the ncstar stuff at the gun shows. They are cheap and they work. the reason eotech, aimpoint et al are so expensive is that they were designed for military use in the desert. If you are just getting it for Zombies, or the imminent chinese invasion, you don't need to spend big bucks on a sight just so you can put your head up to aim.
 
I would look at all the cheapies, except nc star... tasco ,bushnell , truglo makes a good one, aimpoint , trijicon, and if you can stand it, and you want small, look at Doctor optics.. Even BSA.

oh yeah, the burris one mentioned above is good.

Yikes. Sorry, I have to mostly disagree. I wouldn't consider ANY 'cheapies' EXCEPT NcStar or Bushnell.

The TruGlo & Tasco products I've had were complete junk, and the BSA products mostly junk.

NcStar has a useable lifetime warranty on their products, and by most all accounts, work quite well. Vortex also has a good reputation for value in the low end.
 
Kobra. It's made by the Russians specifically for the AK series. It's a rugged, ugly, reliable piece of clunky garbage that is twice as heavy as it needs to be. So it goes perfect with my AK!
 
can it be fitted in my m44?

They have a version that mounts to a picatinny rail, so if you could put a rail on your M44 you'd be in business.
 
For a spray and pray like a AK something you find at Walmart would work.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Years back when I first got my SAR1, I tried a cheap Walmart Tasco red dot on it. It didn't make it through one range session before it spontaneously disassembled itself.
 
Second the Vortex recommendation. Good optic for the price. The rest of them can be a bit hit or miss. I know people who've had TruGlo products fall apart on them, whereas my housemate is using a TruGlo optic I originally had mounted on a .410 shotgun, and it works just fine.
 
check out primary arms and all the good reviews its been getting over at AR15.com, and we all know what a group of brand named snobbs they are

i came across Primary Arms by accident and has found their scopes to be extrmely good value. Not only is that the owner Marshell is fantastic with services, i paid via credit card on tuesday and my scope arrived friday!
 
I have an EOTECH ...the AA battery model...works great...always has. I don't particulary like the look of it, but its a great site. The Aimpoints have a great reputation as well
