What gun is that that parisite posted in post #9? I'm a wheelgun guy, but that gun is beautiful.

I really dig the look of the non-conventional hammers like the fusion in post #10 and STI hammers.

I don't own a 1911 but it's on the short list. I admit I have champagne tastes on a Bush Light budget. I'll likely end up with a Springer or maybe one of the new Remingtons. My favorite is the Ed Brown Executive Carry though. Sadly, it'll take a winning loto ticket to get it.

Arkansas, I too have a thing for Ed Brown guns. I have been drooling over a Kobra carry for some time.

Yeah, about the only difference is the snakeskin engraving instead of the 25 LPI of the Executive. If it came down to it, I'm not sure I wouldn't go with the Kobra Carry or Special Forces Carry. The 25 LPI checkering is what makes it a couple hundred more expensive. Not sure it would be worth it to me. And the chain link on the Special Forces series is pretty awesome.

That Detonics combat Master looks exceedingly interesting! Got anymore to tell on that one? What's with the oddball sights?

The Detonics was designed to be carried with the chamber loaded and the hammer down. They moved the rear sight forward to make it easier to thumb the hammer back.

It was designed back when people were all wigged out by Cocked & Locked carry.

As far as production, DW CBOB all the way. Fusion definitely has the advantage as to what they can do, so many variations that there is an individual flavor for almost anyone.

I like the Colt Series 70 Government model in blued steel.

Not too plain, not too gussied up. Just right.
