Okay, so I have a .45 addiction. I'm trying to decide what suppressor will give me the most joy. I have a custom Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1 conversion, an Olympic .45 ACP upper, and a Springfield XD-45. The Enfield is not threaded yet, the Olympic just has the original "flash suppressor" and I have not purchased the extended/threaded barrel for my XD. If I had to choose, I'd optimize for my Enfield rifle.

Of the available suppressors, which ones are readily useful with bolt action .45 ACP rifles, blow-back carbines, and pistols? What do you compromise by trying for such versatility?

The only 45 cans worth buying are the Silencerco Osprey and AAC TiRant. Google both and choose which one suits you better. Look up youtube videos as well. Good luck....o and join silencertalk.com if you haven't already.

Thanks - I'm going with the AAC, just ordered a threaded barrel this morning. My dealer says the turn around time for ATF form 4 is running around 4 months? :fire:

The best 45 can hands down is the Osprey. Theres no feature or benefit in choosing the Tirant over the Osprey, but the Tirant is just as quiet, thats it. Osprey has too many unique features to ignore and its backed up by a quality company that at least answers the phone, unlike AAC. Another good can was the Gemtech Blackside without LID/booster. Its only 6.25" and only 5 oz compared to all others that are at least 12 oz. Its not a quiet but its cheaper and much smaller and lighter. It does a great job on my 77/44 and 45 Long colt carbine.

Have you looked at the Miranda from Liberty? I've been impressed with the hearing safe level of the sound suppression.

I've had no problems with AAC customer service.

Mike from AAC will answer an email within practically minutes from my experience.
