Morning, folks. Got a set of Pachmayr Grippers on my GP100. Love the grips, they feel perfect in my hand. I shoot the gun more than any other I own. Therein arises the problem: the fine checkering on the Pachmayr grips gets dirty from handling, sweat, etc. It's kind of hard to clean.

Any reason to use anything other than good old soap and water (with the grips removed from the frame)?

I use a little bit (you don't need much) of soft soap and warm water.
I use softsoap because thats what's next to the sink :)

Hogue recommends using WD-40 to clean their overmold stocks and grips.
I haven't tried it on my Overmold 10/22 stock, I'm afraid it would eat it away.
I'll give that a try one day (only on Hogues though)

Pachmyer's used to be made of neoprene which is a very good rubber .It shouldn't be necessary to use anything more than soap or detergent and water and work that into the checkering with a brush like a toothbrush.
