Tell me more about this bisley version...
I may end up buying both BFR 460 and the Smith & Wesson 460 xvr but that would require me selling a very nice 357 and one of my 2 Freedom Arms model 83s 454 Casulls which want to sell any way.
Possibly also selling one of my 44 Magnums.
I'm definitely going to keep my Dan Wesson 44 magnum that is ported is 6 in, and my performance center Hunter version it's the one that's a black and silver that comes with a crappy red. But it's a great shooter and it has a built-in muzzle brake.
So which would you sell between these I have that 629 with the 8in barrel that is fluted with the orange glow fronts say I'm pretty sure it's a performance center model with wood grips it shoots great and I love that front sight very classic look, or sell my five in Ruger Redhawk with ported barrel and Trigger job.
For sale one of the following 357: Performance Center Smith & Wesson M&P R8, or one of my Dan Wesson stainless steel 715 8 in Barrel 357 I have one with and one without a scope. Or my Dan Wesson model 15 - 2 that has a 6 and an 8 inch barrel

Well I just couldn't help myself
I ordered the 460 XVR 8 and 3/4 in

I do imagine I will get the bfr 460 as well after selling one of my 454 Casull and or some other things, depending on how I like the feel of the Smith & Wesson and this caliber.

Thanks again

Can I use the same dyes as 454 Casull?
what reloading dies do I need for it and what powders do you recommend?
My main goal is hunting deer black bear coyotes and hogs.
But also be interested in what bullet should recommend especially for deer

Also would like some recommendations for off the shelf 460 to get started:
some 200 - 250 grain And some 300 or Above.

I hear the Hornaday in the 200 grain range is very accurate.
I'm looking for a good blend between reasonable price and function
Not looking for something to blow my hand off and make me go to the rheumatologist

Not with my Dillon press. The cases are too long, so the dies need to be very long as well, especially for the resizing/decapping die. I have a set of Redding 460 dies for mine. Go slow, as that long brass can buckle if you aren't careful.

As for powder, there are some good choices out there. H110 and AA#9 will get you top velocities if that's what you want for hunting. Though of course you need to work up an accurate load for your particular gun.

At those velocities I recommend you consider hard cast, monolithic, or MaxP's recommendation of Swift A frames. Many HP bullets will fall apart at 460 mag velocities and make a mess of things. But I'll stop there, as MaxP is the expert on bullet choice for hunting.

Personally, I wouldn't use Hornady or most standard cup and core bullets for anything more than fun.

I have a 460 Smith. It will shoot 45 Colt but it definitely has its favorites as far as loads go. This was the best load I found to date. This was from 25 yards shooting 45 Colt and I was surprised enough that I turned the target upside down for a second 5-shot group to make sure it was not completely luck. That said, reduced loads in 460 cases may do better and/or be more forgiving but I have not tried that yet. YMMV
