I have been hunting black bear and deer at the same time for the last five years with no success on bear. Well I finally had it so I called a friend and next month we are going on a black bear only hunt in an area where seeing at least one bear a day is the usual. When I go I want to make sure that the load I have is a good one. After researching the web for the last few days I have narrowed it down to Federal 165gr Barnes Triple Shock X load or the Federal 165gr. Nosler Partion load. Of the two which would be a better bullet for black bear? As always, I will be shooting a 30-06. Shots Will likely be at about 150 to 200 yards. Thanks!

Whichever one shoots best in your rifle. Buy a box of each and go shoot for group only off a bench at 100 yards. Then sight in 2" high at 100 with the one giving you the best group.

Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and ordered the partition load. I spoke with a few friends and family members and the general idea was that the partition has been around forever and has been the go to load for most with nothing but positive results. Not to say the TSX is a bad bullet or wouldn't do the job, just that with the hunt so close, I should go with "ole reliable" instead of something my family is largely unfamiliar with. Thanks again.
