Just got back from trying out my new Bloom Automatic Golf Ball Launcher. If you have a Yugo 59/66 SKS with a grenade launcher or any other rifle with a 22mm 'muzzle brake' you need to get one of these launchers.

The launcher attaches in about 30 seconds - just slip over your muzzle brake or grenade launcher and tighten down the 3 set screws with the supplied allen wrench. Drop a golf ball in the launcher, load up a blank (make sure your gas system is set to 'Grenade'...single shot) and fire away.

This was by far the best range session I've ever had....EVER! The other folks on the line were laughing and all wanted to try it out. We were seeing distances of 200-300 yards from about a 45 degree angle. The most fun was launching the golf ball almost vertical (notice I said almost (you don't want it landing on your head or vehicle!) - it goes so far up that if you blink you will literally lose sight of the ball. After a few tries we were launching the golf balls vertically and managed to get them to come down very close to the berm on the 100 yard range. I didn't measure the hang times but if I had to guess I'd say the balls were in flight for about 15 seconds.

We could've stayed at the range all day and done nothing but launch golf balls...it was that much fun. The limiting factor was how many range balls I brought with me - only about 100...and make sure the golf balls don't have any knicks or cuts because it will 'slice' or 'hook' just like it does in real golf! The vast majority of the range balls were blemish free so we got a lot of really straight shots. One guy even managed to nail the metal gong at 100 yards!

There's an article on the launcher at Bloom Automatic Launcher Review

You can purchase the launcher from Vince at Bloom Automatic - cost is $45 delivered.

Remember that you'll also have to hunt down blanks, depending on what rifle you shoot. You'll also need used golf balls and I found a local driving range near me sells used range balls...$20 for a box of 300 balls.

I should also say I'm not affiliated with Bloom Automatic in any way but wanted to share a super fun product with everybody - it's truly a MUST HAVE for every range session!!

Hope you weren't at my range...which is about a mile from the approach end of RWY 29 at the airport where I work.

Be just wonderful to be on the receiving end of Titleist ack-ack fire!

Hmm I just got an idea for something to make on the lathe at school. I would use aluminum, though. It should hold up ok, I don't think there's that much pressure in there since the golf balls don't seal up tight.

I have one that I use on my AR but cant find any blanks for the sks. I have had a couple balls explode as they were leaving the barrel. I would like to know where I can find 7.62x39 blanks also.

I was at the range seeing the same distances using my golf ball launcher made by Calloway. Oh wait... wrong range. :D

I've always joked about "Morter Golf" But now I might have to actually take up golf! Hey, I live on a golf course. Think they would mind if I practice :D
But how do you putt? A .22 blank? I could see my golf bag now

FINALLY!

I have always maintained that "A golf course is a terrible waste of what would've been a terrific rifle range."

Clearly, NOW we can have both :D :D :D

I don't know a whole lot about golf, so please forgive my question in advance...

Are there reduced power blanks for putting?
More importantly...

Are there "+P+" blanks for ... uh... total golf ball annihilation?

Yeah, you need the tee box loads, the mid-distance "iron" loads, and the pitching loads.

Is Gulf Coast Ammo Ammunition the same guys who have a table at all the Pasadena, TX gun shows? The name looks familiar. If so, I have bought a lot of ammo from them.
