Everyone knows that right now we are in a fight for gun rights. We stand to lose some if we don't sound off with one large voice. The NRA is that large voice right now. Membership needs to be high so the antis cannot say that the NRA represents only a minority of gun owners. Now I know alot of people don't like the NRA and won't join. But for the ones that are already, if you are married have your spouse join. If you have children have them join too. That could result in hundreds more in our ranks. Right now every member counts. Everyone says the NRA is the 800 pond gorilla. Well frankly we need a 2 ton elephant for this fight so get busy enrolling family members!
 
Agreed. My wife and I are both members. I have yet to sign my daughter up, was planning on waiting for her 2nd birthday. I did gift a membership to a friend today. While I do not always agree with the NRA's stance or views, they really are the ones fighting for us.
 
I have helped sign up at least 3 that im positive signed up in the last 2 weeks.

I know its only a few but every one counts. I have posted a few links to promotions on other forums that has helped sign people up too.
 
4 million members before obama won 2nd term, how many members as of today? still pretyy low considering there are 80 million lawful gun owners...
 
Gonna sign my wife up as an Associate Member.

If any of you have grandkids, it would be a great idea to sign them up too!
 
NRA membership is claimed to be up and I believe it. It would be nice that it increase to such higher levels that popular media takes note we take our rights seriously. I would love for a way we could get some access to media to send our message. That tyrant NYC mayor Bloomberg and his misdirected ( and idiotically named ) "mayors against illegal guns" do tv commercials. Why can't the NRA or saf? With more memebrs and the funds why can't we?

Maybe I'm off but I'm going to guess the liberal stations won't accept their money for airtime for those sorts of ads.
 
We need to be working on boosting membership. If the NRA had 20 million members, they would be a force to be reckoned with and gun owners could go on the offensive when it comes to gun legislation instead of playing defense all the time!

I've been upset with the NRA since that swine Clinton and his AWB passed. I let my membership lapse.

But I just re-joined. There's things they do that I dislike, but they are listened to in DC, more than anyone else on our side.

That's the spirit! Enroll as many as possible. I just talked to a friend of mine and told him he needs to enroll. He agreed. Like I said the 800 pound gorilla will not cut it this time. All those new gun owners need to join and make the NRA into an elephant that cannot be ignored. I will be asking another friend here shortly as well to join. We need to show the media and the anti gunners that the NRA is a large grassroots organization, not some talking head for gun manufacturers. And for gun owners on this forum who are not members for whatever reason, maybe its time to put aside that reason for awhile. This fight is too important.
 
I enrolled 4 life members this week. Each time, I was on hold for 30-40 minutes before getting through.

It will be interesting to see where we are in two months.
 
Don't bother reading any of the NRA threads over at GB. Seems like all the liberal plant NRA haters are there and hammering away at defeating the NRA.

Makes me very sad to be associated with a gun forum loaded with left wing loons.
 
Right now, if you don't belong to the NRA, you a aiding and abetting the anti-gun groups.

This is a political fight, and the NRA is the best there is at it.

I don't have a problem with belonging to other pro-gun groups, in fact I encourage it, join as many as you can!

But the NRA is the premier gun lobbyist! There is no excuse for not belonging!
 
I just heard yesterday that membership is up by 100,000+ and still climbing, but and there is that but, every gun owner in America should be a member, if they care at all about keeping their guns. Because whatever we say, the anti's will not be satisfied untill we are an unarmed or criminal populace. The anti's are after all guns, not just the so called assault rifle, or hi cap handgun.
 
Upgraded to Benefactor & bought my fiancee a Life membership. Along with adding members don't forget the NRA-ILA, that money does a lot of good where it counts.
 
Just bumped my membership from Endowment to Patron today. People have criticized the NRA, but as was said above, we are the 800 lb gorilla.

No compromise with the anti-gunners, I say. Zero. Nada. Boosting NRA membership is one good way to keep or re-take our ground. We must stand together.
