Hello Folks,

I've got a BSA CF2 take off barrel that I would like to use as it is nearly new. Are the threads on this barrel readily compatible with any other receivers?

Sorry I can't tell you what the thread type or pitch is because I am really an engineering dunce....

But in other words could I readily screw this barrel into a Winchester M70, Rem 700, Howa / Vanguard, Sako or similar?

I think the CF2 by BSA might have once been marketed in the US under the Herters brand name too as a Herters U9 or similar?

Thanks.

Herters U9 BSA action used a 1.115" outside 12 TPI V thread.
Barrel shank is .920" long, with a counter-bored breech.

I can't think of any other action that's even close.

If there is enough meat forward of the receiver, you might be able to cut it off and re-thread it for a different action, then re-chamber it.

But that would cost more then the barrel is worth.

You best bet is to sell in on Gunbroker to someone who needs it for a BSA action.

Then take the money and buy a barrel for whatever you need one for.

PS: just noticed this. Location: New South Wales, Australia
So Gunbroker probably wasn't such a good suggestion!
Sorry Mate!
