Buying my first shotgun

Love my 870.

Its been reliable, and I just shoot it well. Its not my go to HD gun because I bought it for sporting clays, and the 28" barrel makes it a pain to take out of the gun locker. I'm planning on getting a 20" barrel one day, so that I can use it for HD and 3 gun.

Get an 870. The express will be the cheapest of the 870's. I'd say on average about $400.

If you want an 870 that is really nice to look at and doesn't have the ejection problems that some on this forum have talked about then get a Wingmaster. I just bought a brand spanking new Wingmaster that cost $690 after tax. Plus Remington had a $30 mail in rebate so it ended up to be $660.

I use my Wingmaster at least once a week at my local Clays club. I have had a few comments about it. Mainly, that they were glad to see a Wingmaster instead of an express.

Moral: you get what you pay for
