Buying Unsorted Bulk Brass

Ok, google is my friend.

I found this:

5 Gallon Bucket
Caliber, Count

9mm 8500 - 9000
.40 S&W 7000 - 7500
.45 ACP 3800 - 4000

But, to complicate this, each of those calibers will fit inside the other (9 inside of 40 inside of 45) so a container of mixed brass is quite likely to have a higher density than the above numbers would indicate.

Playing with the numbers, and being 9mm is smallest commercially sold, 800 odd pounds to the drum is about $1000. Sorted it may be worth 2 to 3 times that. Is it worth it?

Not worth it with the current cost of brass unless you have tons of time and patience and don't bore easily. I'd take a few buckets full for myself and pass on the rest.
