TEXAS !!!
I overslept this AM and so I was running 1.5 hours late. I was rushing to get dressed and left the house w/o the P-11 I usu carry in my right front pocket. OMG, I felt sooo nekkid and exposed, when I realized what I'd done. Kinda like bein' trapped in that nightmare where you show up in school, then are told there's a test that you're totally unprepared to take and then you realize you're not wearing any clothes!!
Needless to say, I ran my route in a state of Orange-Red awareness. And my Guardian Angel needs a vacation.
Has this ever happened to any of y'all?
And BTW, I missed y'all last week. My monitor died , but now I have a NEW monitor so I'll be checking in every morning like I usu do.

I was in the hospital last month and therefore wasn't armed for 4 days....the only time sence I've been carrying. It WAS weird ,I felt naked too.Haven't forgot to carry tho.....actually I carried once when I shouldn't have....got called back to work (where it's illegal to carry:mental Hopsital),and I got dressed and put my gun on....when I got there it didn't register until I had to go to Security and let them know I was there...then I realized I was packing.....had to tell them and put the gun in the safe...no biggie really, but it is weird how you get used to it.....and don't even realize you're carrying..I guess that's good and bad....

I was in the San Fran last night. Had spent the day Christmas shopping, so my arms, along with my wife's arms were full of bags. Our 80 year old grandmother also came along for the shopping. Granny looks like any old lady walking down the street. Well dressed and manicured as seems to be norm for the older generation.

Only difference is this 4'8 Granny is also a multi-millionare, and unless you look closely at all the very expensive jewelry she wears, you would never know that. One of the reasons I got my CCW was the fact every time I went out with the Grandparents, I felt there was big target sign painted on their back.

All three of us were walking down a pretty long dark alley, as I parked 3 blocks away. Had to walk through the Mission district with all the bums and pimps/drug dealers hang out. Thank God for the G27 strapped to my side.

Two really dirty bums who had just walked past us all of sudden made a U-turn and started following us. My wife and I both spotted it and she whispers to me "you packing", "yep" I said as all three of us continued walking down the alley all while the Grandmother was yapping away about how when she was young she was so poor.....blah blah blah.

Anyways the bums were starting to following too closely, and I quietly turned around and slowely moved the side of my overcoat exposing the G27. The bums saw this, made another U-turn and quickly walked away.

We finally got back to the car. As we were driving home, the Granny was complaining how the roads were so full of holes, she could trip anytime.....blah blah blah. My wife was rightly yelling at me for not getting the car and forcing all of us to walk through an alley. Granny said there was nothing wrong walking through the alley, and the wife turns to Granny, and says "Jeez, your so oblivious that you didn't realize that we almost got killed in an alley". Granny turns to the wife and say, "but your husband was packing right? so whats to worry about?"

Damn floored my wife and I. I never told Granny in the year since getting my CCW that I sometimes carried a firearm. Other than the wife, no one in the family knows I carry.

Granny did know I was into firearms and very often went to practice but that was it. Made me gain a new respect for Granny's power of observation. Also made me realize, I'm never leaving "sunshine" at home in the holster if I'm going to be in the City.

They just look oblivious . . . .

If the health holds out, I assume you pick up quite a bit getting to that age . . . .God Bless her . . . .

(Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Uncle Leo was stealing from Brentano's . . . . "I'm old, I'm confused"!)

As it turns out, my permit expired in August...I only realized this about 2 weeks ago. Ack! I know, I know...I should have been more proactive about knowing the date it expired...

Two weeks without it was freaky. I definitely changed my attitude and 'hours of operation' during that time period...

Before you leave the house, you grap your keys, wallet, cell phone and gun...without my gun it was very unusual...I think I was walking with a limp from not having the weight there... :p

Yesterday I carried for the first time (legally...renewal CCW in Cali) in two weeks...and once again, I was smashing it into door frames and everything else when you first start carrying...but it was a good feeling.

esheato...

Yea, like the other night when I went to the mall. Who in their right mind wouldn't carry at the mall this time of the year. Only it was kinda wierd when I saw on the window "no concealed weapons" but too late to turn around. :D

...

"...and then you realize you're not wearing any clothes!!"

The worst part of that dream is when I also realize that I'm wearing my P-11 with the built-in belt clip. :D

Oh man thats funny and true!! I recently switched from an IWB to a regular holster and did the same thing.

like the others, it just dosn't feel right without the `ol roscoe on the side.
