Who got the cheapest/best deal on a milspec stripped lower?

I am trying to start a budget build and thought I would ask the experts!

You just missed the best deal going...Palmetto State Armory had them recently at $49.99 each. Still a very full respectable price at $79; very good quality lowers. They periodically have sales, worth keeping an eye on.

PSA at $50

Very close runner up is Surplus Ammo & Arms at $60 or so.

Next up would be Aero Precision and Spike's Tactical, the former usually $80 or less and the latter $80 at AIM Surplus.

Aero Precision does the machining of Surplus Ammo and Spike's lowers, last I knew, although each company can choose different details on the machining. Aero Precision does high quality machining.

I just finished a build with a PSA stripped lower that I got for $49.95. Even at the normal price of $79.95 they are a great deal. I am not positive but another forum it was said that Aero does the PSA lowers as well. I have used Spikes as well and for the price will continue to use PSA.

Palmetto state armory sale is over. PSA regular price is $79.95. Spikes at Aim surplus are $79.95, free shipping. Surplus Ammo and Arms has their lower at $74.99, they have the Aero lower for $79.99.

I have two surplus arms and ammo lowers with no issues. The only complaint which is minor to me is that the lower doesn't have a flared magwell.

i bought a PSA upper and i'm very impressed i got a week off work coming up think i'll make the 2hour trip 2 columbia and pick up a lower 2 match. good reason 2 take my old harley on a little trip!

so then are there any other good sales still going on? Or is it pretty much 80-95 bucks all around?

PSA or Spikes is probably the cheapest I've seen.
A "Mil Spec" lower is a class 3 weapon, so there's no such thing as a Mil Spec semi auto lower.

Not exactly. There is no design feature of the lower itself (excluding the FCG parts) that is not allowed as a civilian, semi-auto, title 1 firearm. It's perfectly legal to have a marking for the full auto position. Silly, perhaps, but legal. It's only when you try to install full-auto parts that you break the law (or, in the eyes of the BATFE, if you merely possess full-auto parts and a lower into which they might be installed). Many civilian lowers are made so they are incompatible with full-auto parts (high shelf), but others are made with a low shelf and are compatible, and this is perfectly legitimate - someone might want to buy a pre-1986 registered drop-in auto sear (RDIAS) and install it in their new lower, and if they do so in compliance with the NFA that's fine.

Now, you won't find a military surplus lower on the civilian market for a variety of reasons, both that the US Govt would never surplus something like that to civilians, but also because of the "once a machinegun, always a machinegun" rule interpreting the NFA. But the actual lower is not different in its design from a perfectly legal civilian market lower that has a low shelf and auto markings.

FYI - Palmetto State Armory has stripped lowers in their store that they are selling for 10% off (making them $72). I haven't seen this deal online, but thought I would toss it out for anyone that might be passing through the Columbia area.
