OK, my experience with a shotgun is pretty much head out to the woods with friends and hand-throw the clays.

Yesterday, I went to a club and shot my first ever round of sporting clays.
I am officially hooked :)

I did horrible but had a blast.

Best part is, the state of California bought my ammo and paid the fee :)

sporting clays is a lot of fun - I just shot a two-day tournament this weekend
one of the more fun games out there

welcome to a fun addiction.

Fun stuff! If you have a skeet facility near by, that's a good way to fill the shooting need and only takes about 30 min to shoot. $5 for a round + $12 for a box of shells = a darn fine lunch break!

there is a trap/skeet semi-close. problem is they are only open Weds & weekends.
the one I went to is a bit of a drive, but 4 lakes nearby for fishing (and one with great mountain bike trails) to really round out a day :)
the club only has one trap/skeet range open.
But the 3 different clay ranges makes up for that :)

looks like they have a good year for events planned
