I see that the CMP has a dutch auction of 8 M1D sniper grands. Low bid is $2000. No extras though, just the rifle.

Whats a M1D going for these days?

Wait until next year. The CMP is supposed to start auctioning off unissued, new in wrap, M1D rifles with M84 scopes sometime next year. These will bring a pretty penny.

Consaidering the plain, regular M1's NIW went for over $10,000, yes, you are correct.

I checked the Gun digest blue book and for a M1D should range for $1500-$2000. CMP list the metal finish as 70-90%. The digest does list the price including the scope and mount.

However there is a note with CMP papers value is substanicly higher.

I wonder how much more it would be worth? Since you sill need the scope and mount, which are not cheap, also the flash hider and cheek mount.

is the M1D the version that uses the T37 flash hider in place of the gas cylinder nut??
Yes. Most of the M1D's usually had the T37, although you'll see lots of combat photos where they don't have any flash suppressor at all.

I think the prices you see on the auction page are always inflated to one degree or another--a small number of people with big wallets that really want something.

Last few that sold on Duff's website, with the scope, $3700 and up.

The 19 CMP has new in the wrap with all issued items, what do you think?
10-12 K.

Some deeper pockets than mine out there!
