Being relatively new to handguns i wanted to gain info and verify,as by store selection its obvious Glock is VERY VERY popular but Colt is the KING so to speak, am i correct in assuming 25ACP,32ACP,380ACP, and 45ACP were all stated by Colt? Being the C stands for Colt

Also what is a 22 semi? 22 what? maybe ACP but never heard it referred as such

What all POPULAR handgun calibers does Colt currently produce?

Everytime at a gun store it seems all Colts are always 45ACP and they are 1911s...Does Colt make a non 1911 45?

Are all new Colts 800 or so and above?

All info on Colt is helpful as i am learning

Thanks

Colts, as well as most other U.S. machined products, are rather expensive when compared to Rugers (which uses lower cost manufacturing methods) and many machined products from South America and Asia. They are on par with other U.S. and European machine shops in cost.

Many of the calibers you reference were popularized by Colt early in the last century, but Colt has been largely out of the business of producing all semiautomatic handguns except 1911 variants for many years. Thus, even used Colts tend to be quite expensive.

Usually the reference to .22 semi means a semiautomatic pistol that shoots the .22 long rifle round - of which there are many manufacturers for. The Colt Woodsman is a classic of that type.

Colts website sucks, but I've been told they are making a new one. In model 1911 autoloaders, Colt makes guns in .45ACP and Super .38. In the past they have made some 9mm as well. They also make Single Action Army revolvers (Peacemakers) in multiple classic calibers. Oh, and various AR-15s.
