So I want to mess around with my Stevens 200 in .308. I was wondering if any one could give me some ballpark figures on the cost to:

1. Shorten the barrel to about 18-20 inches and re-crown.

or

2.Shorten to about 18" including a permanent flash suppressor

3. Solder a set of ghost ring sights on.

I would also like to put a scout mount on it but that might be going a little too far. Also from fantasy dream world, I would LOVE to some how figure out a way to mod it for any detachable 10rd mag. If I could do that I would definitely scout it all the way.

Anyone have anything like this done lately? Or done it?

Thanks again,
Dan

A local smith quoted me $140 to cut, thread and re-crown a barrel. The barrel is not currently on the rifle. If your guy needs to remove the barrel / reinstall, I would assume additional charges for removing and re-headspacing.
Good Luck.
