I got to take out and shoot my CZ 452 Lux for the first time today, and I had the whole range to myself for two hours. Shooting .22 is great fun and I wish I had purchased a .22 long before I ever bought any of my big, shoulder-bruising centerfire rifles. The rifle itself is beautiful and shoots like butta. The bolt, the trigger... perfect. Everything just goes snick snick snick into place. It's like how I imagine shifting gears on a Ferrari would be. I felt like a kid at Christmas with a new Red Ryder BB gun. In all I went through nearly 150 rounds.

I started out shooting at 50 yards, aiming for the center target, which proved to be an overly optimistic idea for a novice. My shots went high as you can see from the group in the black part of the paper. So I moved my target up to 25 yards. In the bottom pic, showing the lower half of the target sheet, are the groups I shot early on, and in the top pic are the ones I shot after I had gotten more comfortable with the trigger and warmed up in general. The targets are 4" diameter. Later I went back to shooting at 50 yards did fair to okay. I find it hard to see the front sight very distinctly when I'm aiming out at 50 yards. I don't know if a peep sight would work any better not. Anyway, I'm totally thrilled with the rifle and look forward to getting more practice in.

make sure you are looking at the front peep site, focusing on it, and not focusing on the target or the rear site. Also , you may put a bit of marine / jig-fishing paint on it, it is very bright, and will be easier to see.
