I have a CZ 52 that has a Harrington HD firing pin/trigger kit and it's a dependable, powerful, accurate pistol. It functions flawlessly. For the range, I use surplus ammo and at home, hollowpoints. But, I've noticed something. Some folks love them while others rake them over the coals; I love them myself. Opinions on CZ 52s seem to be either really positive or extremely negative, with no middle ground whatsoever. Why is that? For those of you who've had experience with a CZ 52, let me know what you think.

Well I love mine so this is biased!

Mine is "as issued" but I have no issues with it! I will at some point add the
modernized firing pin and trigger improvements but still waiting for something to break, to justify it! I don't trust the de-cocker but that is a personal imperative of mine as I don't trust ANY de-cocker even tho it has never failed to do its job, the one time it will matter will be the time I trust it to function normally! It would be nice if someone came out with an improvement over the heel release, but for a $130 you cant heve everything. There are those that complain of accuracy problems, guess some were treated poorly in service, couldn't be happier with mine.

I ended up paying $200 for mine because it has just the one slide dot, but I don't regret it. Try getting a FiveseveN for that price with ammo as cheap.
It's my favorite plinker, as well as my HD pistol for when the 12ga can't penetrate.

This thread is full of opinions on the subject.

I did a range report of one at the same time as a TT-33.

Someone called mine a "blued, rebuilt, piece of ****", but I think that's 1/3-1/2 the total number in circulation. If you can get a non-refurb in good shape, maybe you'll have better luck than I have. I'm personally selling mine for parts and wouldn't buy another.

My CZ52 is bone stock it shoots great i have had it for 4yr no problems. I recently bought a 9mm barrel, roller cam, and Harrington rollers. I like being able to swap barrels and shoot two kinds of ammo from the same gun. My CZ shoots 9mm good no problems in fact i think i like shooting 9mm better than 7.62x25.

No thanks. Fired a few and don't like them. Grip is too long for me, front to back. Horrible trigger. I think they're really ugly.
