The day started out with me telling Jenny I wanted to go to the shop down the street and hold a few guns, just so I could plan on what I wanted to purchase for my next carry piece. I have a P220 which I carry in a C-Tac sometimes, but it's big, heavy, and bulky, so I don't carry it often. I also have a P3AT which I carry frequently, but I really don't care for .380 and I don't shoot it very well. I was thinking of getting a G26/G27 or possibly a Kahr, so I wanted to hold them and compare.

We get there and I go for the Glock/Kahr cabinet. I looked at the Kahr's but didn't ask to handle them. I think it might have been the high price that put me off, or maybe something else, I'm just not sure. I then asked to handle a G26, which I wasn't completely sold on either. I like the height and length, but I didn't really like having my finger hanging off the end of the grip. The guy showed me a grip extension mag, but it added half an inch or so to the length of the grip. I asked to see the G19 so I could compare the two Glocks and to my surprise, the G26 grip with the grip extension was about the same length as the G19, maybe only half an inch shorter. The G19 is also about an inch longer than the G26, but I intend to carry IWB so I figured it probably wouldn't make too much of a difference. Even if it did, I could add a G26 to my collection at some point later, because I've always wanted a G19 just to shoot. I shot a buddies years ago and I've never been so accurate with any gun, before or since.

So I figure I'll go home and think about it, since I can't really afford another gun right now. As we're walking out to leave, we pass the used case. In it was a like new G19. When I say like new, it looks like it's been fired maybe 50 times, MAYBE. Has super bright night sights and they're asking $449. After closely considering how much I've seen them go for on the net, the forums, gun shows, etc. I decided that was a very good deal and handed over the Visa.

I'm sitting here looking at this gun, and I honestly think it looks better than 90% of autoloaders out there. The only guns I'd rank before it in the sexiness department are Sig's and 1911's. I guess it's all a matter of a preference, eh?

This is my second 9mm in a month, (as some of you know I traded my SAR1 for a P226 9mm + $100) so maybe now I'll be afford to shoot more often (my other guns I'd prefer to shoot for pleasure are .45 ACP).

I'd like to try carrying this gun, I'm just hoping it'll be more comfortable than my P220. It was nearly impossible for me to comfortably drive anywhere with it on my back. I now need to save some $$$ for a good belt and holster.

a Glunk is sexy? they are BUTT UGLY, but utilitarian, if they fit your hand... there are MANY better looking guns out there...

Glad it you like it... to me, they are not only ugly, but fit my hand like a 2x4...

I concur about the G19 being a very well proportioned, aesthetically pleasing carry handgun.
It took a while for my eye to behold any Glock in that fashion and truly I only feel the 19/23/30 have the proportions that look... just about right. The 17 is too tall and gangly, the 21 is beefy, the 26 a dwarf, but the 19... well, it's no Whitney Wolverine, HK P7M8 or Mauser HSc in the looks department, but it is pleasing to some eyes.
And to my mind, just about right for CCW

Fondle a Kahr CW9 if you get a chance, they're only about $400.I have a CW40 and I'd have to be naked to be unable to hide it,which is a VERY ugly thought indeed...:p
