Having problems with a new-to-me Desert Eagle.
The slide lock activates after every shot. It feeds and functions fine if I hold the slide lock down with my left thumb. I have tried shifting my grip and let others shoot it...I'm not inadvertently activating it.
Before I order a new slide stop spring,( looks like a pain to swap) I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem
Thanks
Jason

Make sure someone didnt install the spring for the slide release/catch wrong. Im just guessing thats what it is:)

a little update. I had the gun stipped down and noticed that when I pull the trigger the slide stop moves up and down with it. With the slide and barrel removed, when you pull the trigger the slide stop moves up....that seems to explain alot. Can someone try this and let me know if yours does it...and maybe send me a picture of the trigger/slidestop spring arangment.
thanks

Sounds like hot loads. I had the same problem with my .44 on reloads that were a bit hot. Reduced the load and it fixed the problem.

Bump for Carbon 15

I think your on the right track,I would tear it down and figure out why the slide stop is lifting. Take your time and a camera and pad and pen is handy and will help ya stay calm and figure it out.
