Don Hume First Agent H710 Holster Experience

In general, the Don Hume stuff is a good buy for the money. I have three. I did find it funny, that my D/H IWB for my Kahr PM-9 is impossible to re-holster the gun after it is drawn. I learned at home, thankfully. No way was it going back in unless I removed it from my belt and put the gun in first.

I bought two of them. One for my Semi Auto, 9 mm, and one for my snubby 357. I love the one for the semi auto, but not so much for the Snubby. It just does not ride right on my hip, or behind my hip for some reason it causes the cylinder to dig in, as both sides of the holster are shaped like the cylinder.

However, I bought a JIT from them and was supprised to find that it rides better in both locations, and the cylinder does not dig into my hip, or waist like the 710 does with a revolver because the belt loop on it is between the cylinder and my body.

It IS rounded on both sides and I see how that might be a problem for some, although it doesn't bother me. A lot of pancake style holsters I've seen are like that and I think it's a pretty common design, but like Robby said, with the JIT the gun sits on the outside of the belt and may be more comfortable for some.
One thing that may or may not matter: the First Agent cants the gun forward slightly, while the JIT has a straight-up vertical cant.

Here's some pictures:

Note: I didn't realize till I saw these pictures online that the gun wasn't quite fully seated in the holster.

Thanks for those pictures LandlockedPirate, those are some great shots that illustrate what the holster actually looks like. Gunnersalley didnt have the one i ordered in stock, so they ordered it from hume. They said they would contact me when hume got back to them, to let me know the approximate delivery time for the holster. Anyone had any experience with them and how long it might take? Thank you again for those great pics!

If you can't get the gun far enough into the holster to cover the trigger, I wouldn't carry with it. All it would take is fumbling with your keys or something as simple as that to accidentally pull the trigger. Not a big risk, but there's enough cops with a bullet scar across a butt cheek that I wouldn't risk it.

It looks like you should be able to seat the gun far enough that it shouldn't be a problem once you get the holster broken in.

The gun goes in all the way easily enough, but in my haste to get some pictures taken and posted I just neglected to shove it in far enough. I noticed it looked kind of funny when I saw the pictures online but then it was too late to fix it.

Skittlesman7062, I ordered mine directly from Don Hume and it arrived in 3 or 4 days. Something to consider.

Hey Guys,

I got a call from gunnersalley today. They didnt have the First Agent in stock, nor did don hume. The guy from gunners alley (Who was EXTREMELY HELPFUL) said i could either wait the 6 to 8 weeks so they could make it, or change my order. As i didnt want to wait the 6 to 8 weeks, the folks at gunnersalley changed my order to a JIT belt slide and shipped it out today. I must say, i am very impressed with their customer service and how much they are intrested in the satisfaction of their customers. It is refreshing to do business with people like this. Anyone have any idea how long it takes for a USPS Priority mail package to get from NC to ME?

Yeah, I had the same thing happen, from GunnersAlley, and Hume. Out of stock and in my case a 5 to 6 week wait. That was for the revolver one in the 710. I ordered brown, but it would not have made a difference if it was black when I ordered. When I got my JIT, I was going to order brown again, it was out of stock, so I changed to Black and got mine in 3 or 4 days.

Quality on all 3 of mine has been great, finish was good, and dye job was great.
