Hey guys, I went coyote huntin because I was bored. I didn't put too much effort into it either. I was using a rabbit distress call. Lol, I was sitting in my truck, because, like I said, I didn't put too much effort into it.
Anyways, I tooted on my call a couple times. There was a tree line about 150 yards from me. they started yelping and hollering like crazy from the treeline. I figure they saw me in the truck, and I would have no chance at getting the ones hollering. For you experienced guys, what does this mean? There were many of them yelping and howling together, close to me. now, should I have answered with a yelping sound of my own? or continued with the distress call? How often do you blow the distress call?
I know they probably saw my truck, so next time I go out, I will have a blind setup.
I saw one run across the field at about 500 yards, but didn't take a shot as he was in full sprint.
So when you have some coyotes yelping, obviously answering your call, how do you bring em in so you can pop em?
