I've got a new set of Eagle SS grips in checkered rosewood that I purchased thinking they were for a S&W N-frame(not). These are for a round-butt, and they are slightly larger than the round butt of an N-frame. The grip locator pin is set to the rear(heel) of the grip, and is quite large in diamter. I'm guess-timating 3-4mm. IOW, notably larger than the tiny roll-pin you'd find centered on the butt of an S&W.

Since they're for something bigger than an N-frame, I'm thinking Anaconda, Commanche, or maybe like a Taurus 608. Does the size and location of that locator pin ring a bell with anybody? I'd really like to be able to sell these suckers confident that they will fit the new owner's gun.

:)

It's not for the Anaconda.
The Colt Anaconda uses the same grip size and shape as the King Cobra. This is a rounded butt, but it's not larger than the S&W N frame, the pin isn't near the back of the grip, and it's not extremely large.

I'd contact Eagle and describe the grips. They should be able to tell you want they fit.

Yes, they SHOULD BE

I even mailed them in expressly for this purpose. They re-packaged them for me quite nicely, but neglected to see that essential portion of my request! I e-mailed them back, and the response was along the lines of "Sounds like they're for a medium frame Taurus".:banghead:
