Do y'all really discuss things you'd be embarrassed about, on a f---ing CELL PHONE?

I'm for restricting government power as much as anyone and more than most, but really, it's a RADIO TRANSMITTER for chrissakes.

(Rights are important. But so is common sense on the part of the individual.)

Read the article... it's more than just talking about embarassing things on your cell phone... it's about your cell phone, whether actually even "on" or not being able to be remotely used as a microphone.

Must be an April Fools joke, because it isn't turned on when it's not turned on.

That said, yes, if it's turned on, it can be used to track you on some level or other. Some to an accurate GPS coordinate.

But if THAT is embarrassing (in whatever meaning you want to take it), then don't turn the thing on or even take it with you.

Maybe it's an April Fool's thing - but I linked to it from Snopes "Stories in the news", and on that page are other stories I know ARE legitimate.

Unless Wikipedia is coordinating an April Fool's gag with Cnet, I don't see it as being a joke.

I'm assuming it'd be similar to how I can access a turned off computer via a network assuming the "off" computer has the appropriate settings - it is possible to "wake up" a computer via network, I wouldn't be suprised if the same were true of cell phones.
