Finally got my Beretta Nano fixed...
...by trading it for a Kahr CM9.
As chronicled in another thread, I bought a new Beretta Nano recently (serial # in the 90,000 range) and had 35 failure to extract malfunctions in the first 100 rounds using quality 124 grain ammo. To Beretta's credit, they sent a prepaid shipping label and had the gun back in my hands in less than a week! The chamber was polished and the extractor replaced. The Nano did much better after it was returned but still had a few FTE malfunctions even using good ammo. Being that I purchased this pistol for personal protection (concealed carry) I couldn't trust a gun that was exhibiting these types of critical malfunctions. Someone mentioned once that "life's too short to spend time fooling with a problem gun".
Took it back to my local gun shop (great folks) and they returned it and traded me for a new Kahr CM9. This weekend, I put nearly 350 rounds through the Kahr with 0 malfunctions (running both expensive and cheap ammo). The trigger and overall feel of the pistol is great. Accuracy in my hands is very good and I find it very manageable given its small size. Though I wish things had worked out better with the Beretta (as I am a fan and own several other of their pistols) in a sense I'm glad they didn't as this Kahr carries and shoots like a dream.
