Freedom Arms 83 .454 Casull found a new home

Well, I took the advice of my fellow THRs and went for a field grade FA 83 chambered for .454 casull. It was a lot cheaper than the .41 mag premier I'd been contemplating. It cost me $800 clams and a Redhawk .44 mag (worth no more than $500 around here), so $1250. Came with the box, manual, papers and test target. There's not even really a turn line on the cylinder. I don't know if these were ever sold with Pachmayer grips but that's what it has and is probably what I would have put on anyway.

Funny thing is, there were two other guys coming to look at this one tomorrow, I knew if waited until I get back from vacation in week it would be gone.

Now I just need a scope mount for my Burris and time to have some fun. If anyone knows of a good silver-colored aluminum or stainless scope mount please let me know.

Congrats!! You bought quality. That handgun is on my wishlist. Sometimes you have to give up something you like (and then some) to get somethin that you really want. I don't think that you will ever regret making that deal. And as the years go by, you will remind yourself when you shoot that FA, that it was eorth every damned nickel.

Good choice, more versatile for sure. Mine is a 6" Premier and now has an action job and a .45ACP cylinder. Plus I got a mounting base for a Trijicon RMR. For a scope base Leupold makes one, and Freedom Arms offers a few.

I have never actually seen a Freedom Arms revolver in the flesh. Guess I don't get around much. Looks like you made a great choice!! I would love one in 41 mag however.

I ran onto a 480/475 BFR that I am now working on paying for. This one was unexpected, but layaway was available and I took advantage of that option. Probably will have it paid for in a month or so.

I have one exactly like that-down to the grips, no scope. Really great guns and absolutely fantastic shooters! Use mine for deer hunting-haven't 'broken it in' on that yet-maybe this fall.

I have a SRH in .454, and love it, and its brother, a levergun in the same chambering, suggest you, A shoot the hell out of it, and 2 get it a long gun companion.

Very nice. The Field Grade comes with the Pachmayer grips. Really good price you got as well. They are fun to shoot.
